Give Modernise And Colorful Touch To Your Kid’s Bedroom With These 7 Tips!

Designing and decorating kids ideal bedroom are quite challenging, but it’s the same process that draws the inner child in us.

After all, it gives parents the opportunity to create what they have liked for themselves. Further, being in this journey, the potential melting point of stripes, pastels, sparkles, and neons require some doing pre-work to avoid swallowing the unpleasant things.

A Kids bedroom should be their playroom, study room as well as sanctuary, but most importantly, it should be a place of safety, comfort, and peace. You can consider your child’s imagination, expression as well as creativity as a cue for decorating. However, this can also be a false friend as they want Superman today, next year they likely crave sci-fi theme in their room.

Confused!

Below are some design tips to help you:

Walls:

If you want a theme with staying power, go for neutral colors for the walls. Think of walls as a blank canvas and start romantic decorating. If you want more color, try them only at one wall or consider ceiling wall for this. And if you can’t refrain yourself from wallpaper, keep things gentle so that the place looks less dominating!

Think Of Small Elements:

Of course, accessories are a great way to make the place look pleasing,  and don’t cause much, don’t go overboard. Only follow things that work for you as well as for your child’s age. Things like floor coverings, rugs, furniture pieces, colors should be warm, subtle and inviting.

When considering neutrality, invest in something that won’t feel outdated after some time. Don’t go for the trendy décor that you feel bad for replacing.

Invest In Multifunctional Furniture:

Go for the furniture that makes the transition from a room that was designed for a kid to the one ready for the child easy. Think of investing in the desk or dresser that easily fits the place and look for a multipurpose table that fits your child needs.

Also, look for the bed that comes with built-in storage to keep the never-ending supplies of toys in it.

Funky Accessories: Don’t Overdo It!

While accessories are great to bring in the trend and fad, don’t overdo them! Go for the beaded door hangings, add bed ensemble with cute cushions and sheets, hang picture frames and more. You can also bring your kid’s personality with the accessories that you can easily change with their interest.

Incorporating art into your kid’s room help in bringing visual interest into a bedroom.

You can also use the art for deciding upon the color of the room. You can include artifacts or can bring color through soft furnishing to harmonize the space. Further, graphics and modernist prints can help bring the more sophisticated look into the place.

Bring Layers Of Light:

The importance of light should not be neglected when decorating kids room, keep that in mind. Bright lights, fairy hues, and subtle hanging lamps help to create the cozy ambiance. Further, task light at sides of bed help encourages reading.

You can include lampshades on the ceiling to bring focus to the room or can use decorative lamps as an accessory in the kid’s room. Also, tell your kids to put-off the lights when not using and make them learn about tips for reducing electricity bills.

Keep Educational Things In The Room:

Things like books, charts, stationery, toys, and other educational items can also be used as a decorative item. This will help the child become aware of their stuff and other things.

You can use educational-themed photos, graphics and other things to make kids feel inspired.

Built Hangout Areas In The Room:

Kids bedrooms are not just for sleeping. Instead, they function as a space for study, play, and other creative things. So, define every space and make it more interesting. You can induce bean bags, hanging chairs, crafts, a mini tepee to bring some coziness and warmth in the space.

So, those were some tips and tricks to bring vibrancy into your kid’s room. Keep them in mind and design your kids room!
