By homoes Leave a Comment

Eons ago, village living was the ideal way to go. A village provided you with just about everything you needed. These days villages have been mostly abandoned and can be quite depressing for a modern family with modern needs.

Your choices are living in the suburbs where you have to get in your car for everything and deal with long commutes to the city, or to live in a crowded and dirty city. Well, now there is another solution that brings back what used to be so nice about living in a village.

A master planned community is the modern version that allows modern people to live in such a way that suits their lifestyle. In this article, we will go over what the benefits are of living in a master planned community.

1. What is a master planned community?

A master planned community are purpose built developments that not only create new homes for people, but also provide a self contained community that thinks about the needs of the residents. You’ll find grocery stores, parks, schools and even medical facilities all as part of the complex. They are made from the ground up so they use all the latest in technology not only for materials in the construction, but also how they are planned for modern needs.

2. It’s a healthier lifestyle

Living in the suburbs leads to an unhealthy lifestyle. Mainly because you are stuck driving your car everywhere. Long commutes and then having to drive to do things like grocery shop, go to the bank and even doctor’s visits means you are tied to a sedentary lifestyle.

When you live in a master planned community, many of the services you need are within walking distance. You don’t have to drive to do the basics. In many of these communities, bike and foot paths are everywhere so you can also bike for most of your daily needs.

Also, many of them are located in areas close to nature so you can enjoy the outdoors by going hiking or swimming without having to travel too far.

3. More sense of community

One of the biggest benefits of old time villages was that people knew each other well and often came together to help each other out. There was more of a sense of community.

This is often reported by people who choose to live in a master planned community as one of the primary reasons behind the decision. People are tired of the anonymity of the city and suburbs and long for a place where neighbors are friends.

The developments are usually laid out in such a way as to encourage people to mingle. Often, you will find a community center in the middle of the community. This is a place where people can congregate and is often used as a place where events can be held to allow people to get to know the other members of the “village”.
