Mold Removal Process – Step by Step Process

The weather keeps changing; it is rain and shine, an endless chain. But amidst all of it, our homes have to be seamlessly well kept because if you do not pay attention, you will soon catch sight of a morbid mold growing somewhere around your house. A normal person cannot well handle something like mold, so a mold removal company enters the arena. It is all about professional help.

People usually think they can clean up the mold mess by themselves. Still, they should never engage themselves because a mold removal expertwill take all necessary precautions, plus they have all professional tools to aid quick and clean work.

All steps that are involved inspect the space for mold infestation

It is not necessary that you see the mold once it starts growing, it is often noted that house owners see molds if it acquires a big patch in your space or when it starts to smell bad. The horrifying fact remains that if you do not pay close attention, long time exposure to unseen mold can cause numerous health problems like allergies and respiratory blockages.

So, be on a lookout for possible mold infestations and follow up the steps if you encounter one. It is necessary that you see the cause and the entire patch of the area that is showing effects due to this mold attack.

Call the insurance company

Once it is well known that you finally have to deal with this morbid problem, try to contact your insurance company to check if they have allowances for dealing with this issue. Claim the allowance if you have it!

Hire professional help

Never try to outsmart yourself by indulging in this eradication process yourself if the area is more than ten square feet; otherwise, you might fall into many health risks. If you are already allergic, step back and let the services do the work for you. Always be sure you hire the perfect mold removal Professional, that is, one that has an approved license and is professional in the field.

The removal process

Once the mold removal inspector enters your home, they will thoroughly check your space and check for all the possible causes that are making the growth of this nasty mold easy. A lot of work is continuously performed after that, obviously keeping in mind that the team causes minimum damage to any of the areas in your home. There are two levels for the actual eradication processes- while level one is for small areas of 10 feet or less, the level two deals with areas of 10 to 30 square feet. Precautions of wearing goggles, rubber gloves, and use and throw clothes followed.

Overall follow these major steps after this-

  • Check the leaky parts and dampened areas and repair them immediately to block the major cause of this mold and to prevent new spores from growing again.
  • The mold area is then secluded by closing any of the open windows and doors (in case of level 2), with a 6 mm polyethylene covering. Then misting is carefully done to dampen the area. Put out all the affected materials that are wet and damaged, put them in plastic bags to seal and throw.
  • Scrubb off the entire surface with a scrub cloth and detergent and seal the remnants to throw them away in the trash. Then clean the area with damp duster cloth, level 2 requires vacuuming with HEPA VACUUM.
  • Then check for any more visible signs for the mold again. Remove and discard all used materials.

Checking for a successful cleanup completion

It is the team’s duty to revisit the space and check if the mold growth has not occurred again and that the repair work was perfect—the performance of an air quality test to ensure that there is no mold presence and mold odor.

Do the process with due vigilance and great care. Also, house owners should always remain proactive afterward lest they will suffer again at the cause of the molds.
